On its coldest setting, the cold plunge barrel can chill the water down to 3°C. For comparison, a typical plunge pool in a gym or spa is around 16°C, meaning the barrel is over 5 times colder. Its "warmest" setting is 10°C, providing a range to help you find the perfect temperature to suit your practice.

When choosing a location for your barrel, please ensure the width is 110cm and the depth is approximately 120cm. Make sure there are no obstacles such as fences, gates, or doors that could block access.

Placement

It's crucial to place the barrel on a flat, level surface. Placing it on uneven surfaces like York Stone Paving or gravel can cause the weight of the water (over 400kg) to lead to cracks or leaks.

Dimensions

The Brass Monkey barrels are 120cm high and 100cm wide (120cm with fittings). When filled, they hold 400 litres of water, allowing for displacement when you get in.

Maintenance

We recommend changing the filter every 2 to 4 weeks. For barrels with heavy use, you may need to replace the filters or water more frequently. We also suggest showering before use to keep the water clean.

Delivery Options

Estimated Delivery Time 8-10 Weeks

The Brass Monkey barrels are large and heavy, so careful planning for delivery and installation is essential. Due to their size and weight, we recommend a smooth, flat, and hard surface from the kerb to the desired location. More than three steps, narrow corridors, or uneven ground may require specialist equipment, and sometimes even a crane. The team have successfully placed every barrel so far, but if you have concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

UK Kerbside Delivery +£150

For those selecting the UK kerbside delivery option, the team will deliver your barrel to the front of your property, where it will be placed on a pallet with a protective cover. To move the barrel into position, we suggest recruiting a few strong friends with lifting straps or hiring a local removals firm. Setting up your barrel is straightforward, once you’ve placed your order, we’ll send you a short guide on how to set it up.

UK Delivery & Positioning +£595

If you're located in the UK and choose the delivery and installation option the team will assist you from the moment you place your order. All we need is a short video showing the route from the kerb to the final position of the barrel. The team will review the video to ensure the barrel can be safely placed. We’ll discuss any potential challenges in advance and work with you to address them ahead of delivery.
